Speak to It: Community Roundtables on Kink History In-Person
Speak to It is a series of community roundtables on kink history hosted by Daisy Wilde. The goal of these roundtables is to bring community members together with small, facilitated gatherings where they can share their experiences and knowledge about the history of our local scene. Let’s piece together our memories, collaboratively. We will prioritize sharing stories and knowledge of Chicago’s physical spaces (The Leather Archives and Museum, the Baton, Jackhammer, GD2, LRA, The Chicago Rose, Sakura Studios…), as well as the stories and histories of Chicago munches.
If you’ve been in the community for a while, please come share your stories! If you’re newer to the community, please come listen respectfully and let’s learn from those who came before us.
Please note:
- The venue is not accessible, and you will need to navigate stairs to enter the space. There are also stairs required to be able to access the bathrooms.
- These roundtables will be held every other month on Sundays at 1PM, and will be announced as far in advance as possible.
- Speak to It is a public forum - the stories shared here may be discussed outside of the room and may also be documented or archived by the Leather Archives & Museum or through online projects. If you choose to participate, please do so with the understanding that your contributions are part of a collective history and not a private conversation.
Thank you!
